Arianne is an amazing teacher, fluent in many languages, and genuinely fun. She teaches “stap voor stap” for Dutch exams and also guides the strange detours that help me understand living in the Netherlands. Every class is personalized. For example, after arriving in a rainstorm, we talked about NL “wetter than an otter’s pocket” vs USA “raining cats and dogs”. I learned so many fun words, proper grammar, slang… and eventually even dried off.

When I moved to Holland I followed Dutch classes with Arianne. They were group classes and not only did they establish a great foundation for my very happy 10-year stay in the country, they were also really good fun.
But perhaps, more important, we moved our son to the Dutch educational system in his last year of primary school. He could hardly speak a word of Dutch and needed a big boost of confidence before this big change. He took 2 months of intensive Dutch classes with Arianne, which were truly life-changing for him. He had a great year academically and he since went on to pursue his education in Holland. He is now in his final year and his Dutch is spectacular!
I took small group lessons with Arianne for four years. She was brilliant at involving all of us and drawing us into simple conversations right from the very start. Arianne is an energetic and enthusiastic teacher who makes learning enjoyable! She shares interesting trivia about the Netherlands and even knows a bit of Japanese, which makes her lessons engaging and unique. Our daughter lived in the Netherlands for three years from the age of three.
Since returning to Japan, she has been taking Dutch lessons once a week so that she doesn't forget her language.She looks forward to her weekly lessons and says she enjoys playing the quizzes and bingo games.
